Which one fits
Where each one makes more sense
SagaMail suits you if
- You have several mailboxes. Pooled storage and a yearly plan price get cheaper per person as your team grows.
- You want mail, calendar, contacts and files together without paying for each separately.
- You care about control and visibility. Admin panel, delivery logs, quarantine, sending limits and two-factor login.
- You want your data in India and someone local to call.
Hostinger may suit you better if
- You need one or two mailboxes only. At that size Hostinger Starter can cost less per year. Try the calculator above.
- You use its AI writing and reply tools today. Ours are not released yet.
- You want email, hosting and domain from one vendor. We only do email and domains.
- You need a large mailbox for one person. Hostinger offers up to 50 GB per mailbox.
Migration guide
Six steps from Hostinger to SagaMail
Do them in this order. Your old mailbox keeps working until you switch the mail records in step 4, so nobody loses mail while you set up.
Create the same mailboxes in SagaMail
Add your domain in the SagaMail admin panel and create each email address you use at Hostinger, with the same spelling. Add your aliases and forwards too. You will find the DNS records you need for step 4 on the domain page.
Copy your old mail across
Use the SagaMail migration tool for each mailbox. It is free. Enter your Hostinger login as the source and your new SagaMail login as the destination.
Open the migration toolIMAP serverimap.hostinger.comPort993EncryptionSSL/TLSUsernameYour full email addressFind where your domain's DNS is managed
If your domain's nameservers point to Hostinger, make the changes in hPanel under the domain's DNS zone. If the domain is registered elsewhere, edit the records there. Change mail records only.
Do not change your nameservers and do not touch the A or CNAME records that run your website. That keeps the site online throughout.
Switch the mail records to SagaMail
Replace the existing MX records with the ones SagaMail shows for your domain, then update the SPF record and add the DKIM key. New mail starts arriving in SagaMail as soon as the change reaches the internet.
Remove: mx1.hostinger.comRemove: mx2.hostinger.comAdd: MX values from your SagaMail domain pageUpdate: SPF and DKIM from your SagaMail domain pageWait, test, then catch up
The change usually reaches most senders within a few hours and can take up to 48 hours. Send test mail to and from your SagaMail address. Mail that reached Hostinger just before the switch can be copied with a second pass of the migration tool. Ask support if you want help with that.
Move your devices, then close the old plan
Remove the Hostinger account from your phone and mail apps, and sign in with SagaMail on webmail, desktop and mobile. Check the mailbox over a few days. Hostinger bills email plans upfront for a multi-year term, so check your term and its refund window before you cancel.

Before you switch
Will my website go offline?
No. Email and website use different records. You only replace the mail records, and your nameservers and website records stay as they are.
Will I lose old emails?
No. The migration tool copies your messages and folders into SagaMail and leaves the Hostinger mailbox untouched. Keep the Hostinger plan until you have checked everything arrived.
Do I need to buy my domain from SagaMail?
No. You can keep your domain wherever it is registered and add it to SagaMail as an external domain. You verify it and add the records we show you.
Can I keep some mailboxes at Hostinger for now?
Mail for one domain goes to one provider at a time, because the MX records point to a single place. Move the whole domain together, or use a different domain for the mailboxes you keep.
What about my email signatures, contacts and calendar?
Signatures you recreate in SagaMail. Contacts and calendars are not part of the mail copy, so export them from your old setup and import them into SagaMail Contacts and Calendar.
What happens to forwards and aliases?
Create them again in the SagaMail admin panel before you switch the records, so nothing is missed. Check each forward address in the panel as part of that.
Is the migration tool free?
Yes, for SagaMail customers. You need a SagaMail mailbox already created to use it.
